Beijing exhibitors show robots designed to make everyday tasks easier
Demonstrations range from screens that adjust to a user’s posture to tools for translation and research.
What happened
At the HICOOL summit, Beijing AI companies presented devices and services for offices, homes and research teams. A desktop robot could follow a user’s position and respond to gestures.
Why it matters
The demonstrations connect AI capabilities to specific uses, such as more comfortable computer work and assistance with research. They also show companies seeking routes from development to wider sales.
Companion-robot exhibitors described systems intended to respond to social cues rather than speak constantly. Other displays included interpretation headphones and a scientific research agent.
The report places these products within Haidian’s network of universities, suppliers, funding and testing opportunities. Some uses are demonstrations today; others, including possible operating-room uses, are plans.
